She was predeceased by: her parents, Jan Zemanek and Anastasia Zemanek (Vlasak); her stepfather Sigmund Dusik; her husband Robert Protteau; her son Gerard Protteau; and her siblings, Josephine Hedden, Bernadine Bowar and Al Dusik.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Rye of Morgantown, Therese Gardner of Sorrento, Beth Werry (Stephen Werry) of Bellville, Texas and Jan Protteau (Betty) of Montgomery, Texas; her grandchildren, Stacy Rye, Laura Rye, JoEllen Ruckman, Annie Peace, Marie Gardner, Devin Gardner, Ben Werry, Tony Protteau and Suzy Wilkerson; and her great grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Adrienne, Max, Josie, Caroline, Harrison, Jacob, Hannah, Brantley, Brinley, Cody, Wyatt, Isabella, Beau, Hayden and Hayley. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
