It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Lewis in Killeen, Texas, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid Dorothy farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Dorothy is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Freddy Lewis and Annie Mae Lewis; and her siblings, Johnny Lewis, Grady "Butch" Lewis and Willa Mae Lewis.
She is survived by: her children, Curtis Wright of Berlin, Charles Wright, Jr. (Rachel) of Temple, TX, Charlotte Draper (Michael) of Philadelphia, PA and Cassandra Harris (Seth) of Virginia Beach, VA.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services (5431 U. S. Hwy 190, Belton, TX 76513).
