He was predeceased by: his parents, George Whitehead and Curly Whitehead (Wynn); his stepmother Margie Whitehead; and his stepsiblings, Wayne Rash, Donald Rash and Sharon Rash.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Whitehead; his stepsiblings, Jimmy Rash and Cathy Stapp; his children, George A. Whitehead, Kattie Jones and Sharon Whitehead; and his grandchildren, Michael Jones, Nicholas Jones, Katelynn Jones, Adrian Whitehead, Zander Jones and Aidan Whitehead.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Russell's name to the Gillum Cemetery in Oakalla, Texas.
