He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Cooley and Izora Cooley; his daughter Brenda Branch; and his siblings, Charles Stanford and Pearl Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Barbra Cooley of Big Spring; his children, Shawn Cooley (Stephanie) of Big Spring and Renee Cooley of Fort Collins, Colorado; his grandchildren, Natasha Spivey (Edward, Jr.) of Big Spring, Teagie McBeth (Roy) of Tuscola, Madison Bzdok (Brandon) of Colorado Springs, Brooklyn Riddel of Big Spring, Copeland Riddel of Big Spring, Jolie Branch of Tuscola and Maggie Branch of Tuscola; his great grandchildren, Harley Spivey, Braxton Spivey, Brantley Spivey and Josephine McBeth; and his brother Joe Cooley of Alamogordo.
The family of Burl Cooley prefers not to receive flowers, instead they would like donations made to the Drive Thru Nativity fund at First Church of the Nazarene, 1400 Lancaster, Big Spring, Texas 79720 in memory of Burl.
