He was predeceased by: his sister Molly Riley; his grandson Lucas Downs; and his brother Mike Riley. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Cheatham of Borger; and his children, Jared Downs (Darla) of Hawaii, J. P. Riley (Serena) of Tennessee, Robert Riley III (Cheryl) of Kentucky, Dawn Masterson of Georgia and Lydia Stang (Donald) of Stinnett. He is also survived by ses twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors - Borger (314 S Hedgecoke St, Borger, TX 79007). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Llano Cemetery (2900 S Hayes St, Amarillo, TX 79103).
