He was predeceased by: his parent Teno Martinez Ortega; his daughter Cathy Ortega; his siblings, Olga DeLaCruz, Tino Ortega and Arthur Ortega; and his brother-in-law Andrew Hernandez, Jr..
He is survived by: his mother Esther Ortega (Zapata) of Brady, TX; his wife Mary Helen Ortega of Brady, TX; his children, Alvino Ortega (Jessica) of Ft. Worth, TX and Crystal McFarland (Kevin) of San Antonio, TX; his siblings, Uvaldo Ortega of Ft. Worth, TX, Steven Ortega of Houston, TX, Antonia Ramos of Brownwood, TX, Linda Ortega of Brownwood, TX, Maria Candena of Ft. Worth, TX, Lucy Ortega of Comanche, TX, Esmerelda Cano of Uvalde, TX and Theresa Ortega of Houston, TX; his friend Rose Botello of Brady, TX; his grandchildren, Mark Ortega, Michael Ortega, Matthew Ortega, Makayla Ortega, Gabriella McFarland, Kendall Reina McFarland and Samantha McFarland; and his nephews, Andrew Hernandez, III and John Mireles.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Leatherwood Memorial Chapels (1001 S Elm St, Brady, TX 76825). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
