He was predeceased by : his parents, Bartolo "B. C." Diaz and Evangelina "Eva" Diaz (Solis); his siblings, Mary and Robert; and his nephew Jayson.

He is survived by : his daughter Sierra Elissa Pugh; his granddaughters, Khloe, Brynlee and Ariyah; and his sisters, Josie (H. T. Fillingham) of Rotan, Sally Diaz of Breckenridge, Tina (James Toland) of Marion and Linda (James Cameron) of Breckenridge.
