He was predeceased by: his parents, Della Mae Melder Collins and Isaac C. "Ike" Collins; his wife Sue; and his siblings, Louise Hamilton, I. C. Collins, Jr. and William "Bill" Collins.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie (Randy Petty), Mike Collins (Trisha Clement) and Patty Collins (Chuck Kennison); his grandchildren, Jenny Jung (Nic), Joshua Schmuck (Amanda), Cory Woodson (Cortlyn) and Michael Petty; and his sister-in-law JoAnn Collins. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St Paul Global Methodist Church (1155 W Round Bunch Rd, Bridge City, TX 77611). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don's memory may be made to the St Paul Methodist Church Prayer Garden or to MD Anderson Cancer Center, whose Leukemia experts gave him nearly two additional decades of quality life.
