She was predeceased by: her husband Manuel "Manny" Marquez; her parents, Isabel Gamez Nuñez and Jorge Geronimo Nuñez; and her siblings, Aracely "Sally" De Loach, Norma Treviño and Jorge Nuñez.
She is survived by: her children, Claudia San Miguel Elizondo (Jose Raul), Veronica A. San Miguel and Erick A. San Miguel; her grandchildren, Paulina, Eva (Emilio), Diego, Mario (Micaela), Dante, Alexandria and Emma; and her siblings, Xavier, Leticia (Benny) and Jaime (Mayra). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home (657 Springmart Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78526). A rosary will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 6:00 PM. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimers Association in honor of Gloria E. Marquez, reflecting Gloria's enduring compassion and commitment to mental illness.
