He was predeceased by: his parents, Aurelio Gomez and Rita Gonzalez; his son Gilberto Gomez; and his siblings, Felix Ortiz, Joe Gonzalez and Eva Bazan.
He is survived by: his wife Socorro D. Gomez; and his children, Maria Elena Gomez, Guadalupe Gomez Jr. and Eduardo Gomez. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM at the Trevino Funeral Home (1355 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78521). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1200 Lincoln St, Brownsville, TX 78521). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Buena Vista Burial Park (1024 Mc Davitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521).
