It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe A. Rodriguez (Brownsville, Texas), who passed away on April 6, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joe A. Rodriguez to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Amador Rodriguez and Alicia Alamia Rodriguez; his wife Emma Leal Rodriguez; and his siblings, Amador Rodriguez, Diana Rodriguez Taylor and Cristina Rodriguez Flores.

He is survived by : his children, Debbie Pringle (Andrew), Tony Rodriguez (Rhonda), Lucky Rodriguez and MonDe Davis (Chris); his grandchildren, Caroline, Bianca Pringle, Maya, Gaby, Joey Rodriguez, Emma and Mac Davis; and his siblings, Alicia Wickman (Bob), Eduardo Rodriguez (Paula), Romeo Rodriguez (Birdie) and Tom Chavez (Nadine). He is also survived by His mother and sisters.

To the end, Joe remained a tireless advocate for student-athletes, establishing the Student Scholarship Services Foundation, which has awarded over 975 student-athlete scholarships in this area.
