He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Herbert and Jewel Frances Chism (Horner); his wife Peggy Jo Brubaker Chism; and his siblings, L. H., Harrell, Odell Chism, Mattie Wardlow and Faye Turner.
He is survived by: his children, Kim (Don Beard) of Eula, Pam (Terry Teague) of Brownwood and Nickey (Sarah Chism) of Coleman; his brother Don Chism; and his sister-in-law Linda Chism. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews.
