She was predeceased by : her parents, Herman Hinesly and Ruby Hinesly; her daughter Christine Ann Worden; her sister Betty; and her brothers-in-law, Tom George and Richard Modawell.

She is survived by : her husband Gene Tom Hitchcock; her sister Maxine Modawell; her sons, Mike Hitchcock (Ivy), Don Hitchcock (Shawna) and Jerry Hitchcock (Carol); and her son-in-law J. R. Worden. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Heart Association.
