He was predeceased by: his parents, Fayne and Charlene Wilkes of Midland Texas. He is survived by: his son John Wilkes; his significant other Charlotte Hurd; his son Rex Lee Wilkes of Kentucky; his nephew John Fayne Wilkes; his father-in-law Howard Hurd; and his brother-in-law Dr. Howard Hurd II. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
