He was predeceased by: his grandchildren, Travis Pelzel and Angel Pelzel; his siblings, Beatrice Talafuse, Gertrude Hopper, Dorene Ulicnek, Pauline West, Lena Mae Santos, Pearl Mayer, Joan Goode and John Richard; his parents, William Whitaker and Gertrude Whitaker; and his son-in-law Glenn Pelzel.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Yates of Cameron; his daughters, Cynthia Mendehall (Ruben) of Graham and Washington Bridget Pelzel of Cameron; his brother James Yates of Robinson; and his grandchildren, Jessica Radtke, James Radtke, Frank Pelzel (Joey) and Thomas Wayne.
