She was predeceased by : her parents, W. C. "Nealy" Cox and Margaret Cox (Newberry); and her spouse Hardy Elbern Wallace. She is survived by : her children, Mary Hensley (Jim) of Conroe, Jana Goss (Keith) of Canyon, Amy Gilleland (Gary) of Elgin, Oklahoma and Eric Wallace of Amarillo; and her brother Bill Cox (Julia) of Lubbock. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be made to the First Methodist Church Sharing Fund, 1818 4th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015, in lieu of flowers.

“Helen and I - and other Cox cousins- were fortunate to meet Bettye Cox Wallace in May 1996 at our first Cox family reunion in Lampasas Texas. She came from Canyon, bringing a friend, and was quickly perceived as a warm, gracious, and capable lady. She soon became one of my very favorite cousins, and we have maintained contact since age and health have prevented her from attending our reunion. This is a better world because of the life of Bettye Ruth Cox Wallace. Joe & Helen Cox, San Marcos, TX”
