She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Victor Powell and Mary Powell of Elkton Kentucky; her brother Victor Powell Jr. of Elkton Kentucky; her sons, Michael Truitt of Canyon Texas and Scott Truitt of Hammond Louisiana; her grandchildren, Michael Truitt Jr., Micheala Truitt, Alexander Truitt and Augustas Truitt; and her brother Hayden Powell of Elkton Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made the Mary Cecil Powell Truitt nursing scholarship at West Texas A&M University in Canyon Texas.
