He was predeceased by : his parents, Dorothy Galleghar and Michael Joseph Mahler Sr.. He is survived by : his wife Soledad Gomez Trabadela of Mahler; his children, Michael Joseph Mahler III (Celsa), Soledad Monique Mahler (Cesar Herrera), Mark Andrew Mahler (Yumiko Takeshima) and James Anthony Mahler (Christine); his grandchildren, Soledad Shaffer Ne (Solita), Antonio Comas, Olivia Baig Ne (Libby), Michael J. Mahler IV, Jacob Mahler, Nicolas Mahler, Elise Mahler and Nobu Mahler; his great grandchildren, Brielle Shaffer, Teddy Shaffer and Zain Baig; and his siblings, Dolores A. Lavelle, Judith A. Mahler and Thomas S. Mahler.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 22nd 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (1705 E Peters Colony Rd, Carrollton, TX 75007). A mass of christian burial was held on Friday, September 22nd 2023 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, September 26th 2023 from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM at the Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).
