He is survived by: his children, Freeman Nichols, Mike Nichols (Beth) and Leslie (Travis Schulz); his grandchildren, Megan (Marcus Adkinson), Derek Nichols (Jenny), Cody Nichols (Holly), Ashley (Bryant Latham), Kaley (Neil Pigg), Michaela Schulz and Taylor (Wyatt Hairgrove); his great grandchildren, Easton Latham, Kannon Latham, Deacon Anthony, Olivia Anthony, Rhett Adkinson, Shaun Adkinson, Kolton Adkinson, Cody Adkinson, Karson Adkinson, Laityn Nichols, Lorelai Nichols, Case Michael Nichols, Caroline Nichols, MaKinley Pigg, Lane Pig, Amari Schulz and Millie Hairgrove; his sisters, Bobbie Ross, Linda Risinger and Judy Oates; and his brothers-in-law, Leon Windham and Max Windham.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Watson & Sons Funeral Home (1554 TX-7, Center, TX 75935). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at the West Hamilton Cemetery.
