He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Charles "T. C." Newsom and Lillian Faye Newsom (Hill). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Newsom of Chandler; his children, Mike Newsom (Amy) of Flint, Sondra Huggins (Bret) of San Antonio, Jimmy Brooks (Sharon) of Chandler, Jerry Brooks of Chandler and D'Laine Brooks of Brownsboro; his siblings, Paul Newsom (Anne) of Chandler, Wanda Downing (Clayton) of Lewisville and Alvin Newsom (Laura) of South Lake; and his grandchildren, Connor Newsom (Courtney), Carley French (Cass), Hailey Howard (Colton), Lindsey Huggins, David Brooks (Jennifer), Matt Brooks, Jake Brooks, Wende Smith, Brittany Folden, Nicole Murphrey (Eric) and Chance Folden. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home (205 Broad St, Chandler, TX 75758). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Chandler Memorial Cemetery (620 Old Tyler Rd, Chandler, TX 75758).
