He was predeceased by : his father Joe "Jaybird" Allen Gillem. He is survived by : his wife Kristi Gillem; his children, Tanner Gillem (Courtney), Tristan Thomas (Lane), Katy Timmons, Kolton Harris (Ashley) and Conor Cope (Reina); his grandchildren, Jett Brendle, Brooklyn, Hailey, Remy Thomas, Cutter, Raegan Beavers, Clara, Samuel Harris and Cohen Cope; his brother Mike Gillem (Karen); and also Ellen Gillem.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (307 Ave C NW, Childress, TX 79201). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Childress (300 Ave C NW, Childress, TX 79201).
