She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Ovid Eland Cox, Jr. and Hazel Madolin Johnson; her grandmother Dallas; her grandson Christopher Hendry; her great grandchild Trey Vasquez; her siblings, Earl Bruce Cox and Judy Sunday; and her children, Donald Hendry (Paula), Bruce Shane Hendry (Lancy), Helen Powell (Douglas) and Crystal Taylor (Chance Goodman). She was also cherished by 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.
