He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Weldon Smith, Sr. and Susie Marietta Lyle Smith; his son Charlie Smith; and his brother Richard Wayne Smith. He is survived by: his wife Texie Russell; his daughters, Theresa Galland (Warren) and Jessica Ellisor (Bruce); his siblings, Diane Livsey, Robert McMullen and Walter Smith (Toye); his stepchildren, Richard Howell, Douglas Howell, Sandra Howell and Burtis Russell; and his daughter-in-law Shawn Smith. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
