He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Wayne and Lois Helms (Wade); his wife Patricia Garrett Helms; and his sister JoAnne Rush. He is survived by: his close friends, Jerry Don and Misty Coutney of Chappell Hill; his grandchildren, Jerry Don Courtney, Jr. and Britney Nicole Courtney; and his sibling's children, Patricia Wylie, Jimmy Wylie, Jason Wylie and Thomas Wylie. He is also survived by numerous other family members and dear friends.
