He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Cuellar; his sister-in-law Lora I. Meza; and his brother Esteban Meza. He is survived by: his father Domingo Meza (Emerita); his wife Valerie Barrera Meza; his children, David Cruz Meza Jr., Kaziah Frances Meza and Derrick Cruz Meza; and his siblings, Adrian Meza (Lora), Marian Adams (Brad), Angela Ridley, Irene Garfield (Rob), Katherine Anderson-Ebener (Evan) and Kristie Vera (Joe).
