It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gustavo Benavidez Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas, who passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustavo Benavidez Sr. and Nicanora Ruiz; his siblings, Delia Garcia (Ovidio), Jesus Benavidez (Lydia), Roberto Benavidez and Rosalinda Tellez (Arnold); his daughter Dilia Lott (Mark); his parents-in-law, Maria L. Perales and Pablo D. Perales Jr.; and his brothers-in-law, Pablo D. Perales III and Robert P. Garza (Brenda).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara P. Benavidez; his stepdaughter Kristin Hoover (Craig); his sons, Noah, Henry and James; his siblings, Bertha Guerra (Italo), Maria, Rene, Estella and Diana; and his children, Norma Benavidez, Rene Benavidez, Debra Benavidez, Brenda Ricketts (Brian) and Michael Benavidez (Marika). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; cousins; sister-in-laws, and brother-in-laws.
