He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Figueroa Avila (Oropeza) and Roberto P. Oropeza Sr.; his brothers, David Oropeza and Roberto P. Oropeza Jr.; and his son Gustavo E. Oropeza Jr..
He is survived by: his daughter Lori Oropeza Lopez; his grandchildren, Victoria, Emma Lopez, Gustavo III, Jeremiah and Jacob Oropeza; his great grandchildren, Xavion, Nicole, Andrea, Avery and Jazlyn; and his siblings, Linda Oropeza, Gloria O. Torres (David), Anna Oropeza, Esther O. Martinez (Rodolfo), Lupita O. Alaniz (Jaime), Angelita O. Rosales (Robert), Ernesto Oropeza, Joe Oropeza (Stephanie) and Richard Oropeza (Bettye). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Treviño Funeral Home (3006 Niagara St, Corpus Christi, TX 78405). A rosary was held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Friday, August 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (2509 Nogales St, Corpus Christi, TX 78416). A burial was held on Friday, August 29th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Memory Gardens Cemetery (8200 Old Brownsville Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78415).
