He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmer Brooks (Isojoki) and Tyne Frost; his wife Pauline Thrushman; his children, John Donald Brooks "Don", Karen Brooks-Hodges (Quinton) and Lisa Brooks Gerdes (late David); his grandchildren, Justin Gerdes, Michael Gerdes, Jonathan Gerdes, Nathanial Gerdes, Jennifer Hebert, Joshua Hebert, Tia Mazzouj, Jake Brooks, Shari Houck, Stephen Hodges and Teagon; his brother David Brooks (Eli); his friend Pauline; Valora Abel.
With his love of horses and dog racing, the family is asking in lieu of flowers those donations be made to Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, Inc. in his name.
