He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Manuel, Juanita Vela and William Flores; and his sister Eloisa G. Vela. He is survived by: his parents, Rene Vela and Hilda Vela; his grandmother Concepcion Flores; his siblings, Rene Vela Jr. (Juby), Manuel Vela (Linda) and Lydia Vela (Brandie); his aunts, Minerva Bruce, Maria Lisa Reyes (Richard), Finessa Vega, Judith Flores and Bernadette Flores; his niece Sylvia-Ann Renee Vela; and his cousins, Finessa Flores and Bianka Vega. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends.
