A candle has been lit

“I am heartbroken to lose my brother, my hero, my friend, my pal, my family, Mel, and his parents. I felt they were my family. We grew up together as friends. We went to the same school for 12 years, Gary Emerson. He was always the smiling friendly guy and was so motivated to become successful. Hè cared about everyone and never forgot his friends, he was a great father to his daughters, Jacqueline and Jenna, he loved them so much. I will miss him but will never forget him. Love, Joe”

M. Inaba wrote a sympathy message

“Mel was a classmate and dear friend of my brother, John. He remained close with his friends from childhood throughout his productive life and continued to meet for reunions in Chicago's Greektown for many decades. Our family admired Mel's work ethic, commitments his family, and charitable generosity. He was a hero when our brother, John needed cancer treatment. Mel's life was a blessing. Michel Nowak Inaba, Ph.D. Sacramento, CA.”
