He was predeceased by: his parents, Rafael Galvan and Virginia Galvan; his brother Ralph of Galvan's Orchestra; his wife Alicia Varela Galvan; his daughter Guadalupe Galvan; and his parents-in-law, Salvador and Angela Varela.
He is survived by: his son Robert "Bobby" M. Galvan, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Deeanne Galvan; and his granddaughter Jacqueline "Lexi" Alicia Galvan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a large extended family.
