He was predeceased by: his mother Nina Gwartney Stewart; his son Jed Thomas; and his siblings, Nina Russo, Virginia Brady (Gene), Merry Adams, Robert Stewart (Anne) and George Stewart (Gay).
He is survived by: his wife Dale McClure; his daughters, Elaine Petrulis (Vytas) of Houston and Claire Nagle (Tom) of Austin, Texas; and his grandchildren, Eva, Rex Petrulis of Houston, Ellie and Caroline Nagle of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
