He was predeceased by : his parents, Thonnie Cordell Lane and Alice Estelle Sesser Lane; his siblings, Patsy Ritter, Diane Lane and Thonnie "Butch" Lane; and his daughter Mary (Charles Lindsey).

He is survived by : his wife Sharon Lane of Crockett; his sons, Johnnie Ray Lane (Linda) of Conroe and Thonnie Ray Lane (Kimberly) of Grapeland; his grandchildren, Billy Lane of Bakersfield, CA, Hailey Ratkovich (Kyle) of Gary, IN, Sarah West of Crockett, Ryan Lane (Elizabeth) of Nederland, Brett Lane (Sara) of Grapeland, Victoria Lane of Weatherford and Isabell Lane of Grapeland; his great grandchildren, Conner, Kason, Bentley Lane, Wesson Lane, Nathan and Lilly Lane; his sister-in-law Terry Shiflet (Gary) of Houston; his nephew Clay Shiflet (Jen) of New Caney; and his close friends, Joseph, Rachel Hebert of Crockett, Mike, Janice Lewis of Crockett, Jerry Biernat of Montalba, Ruth Cook of Crockett and Amy Rodriquez of Grapeland. He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Callaway-Allee Funeral Home (700 E Houston Ave, Crockett, TX 75835). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
