He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin F. Blockwood and Clovice Haley; his siblings, James "Stoney" Washington, Jr., Isiah "Monk" Anderson, Sr., Elmer Blockwood and Mary Ann Haley; and his daughter Brandy Blockwood.
He is survived by: his wife Faye; his daughters, Rosa Blockwood (Domas) of Grand Prairie, TX and Christie Blockwood-Demus (Cedric) of Grand Prairie, TX; his stepchildren, Deborah Thompson (SJ) and Charles "Chuck" Chance, Jr. (Terri) of Houston, TX; his grandchildren, DaMeisha Fields, Hope McDaniel, Joy McDaniel, Courtney Chance, Dante Fields, Cameron Chance (Tanaya), Sterling Thompson and Daazman Thompson; and his siblings, Roosevelt Dyer, James Blockwood Sr. (Maggie), Benjamin Miller (Rosa), Gwendolyn Haley, Evette Washington, Loraine "Frankie" Haynes, Renee Blockwood Jones and Carolyn Washington Womack. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
A wake was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Paradise Missionary Baptist Church (1222 E Red Bird Ln, Dallas, TX 75241). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
