She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Nelson and Ethal Mae Nelson; her husband James Lewis Ballard Sr.; and her siblings, Ruth Ann, Ruby Lee, Catherine (Teen), Rose Lee and Roosevelt.
She is survived by: her children, Latanya Zeno (Emerson), James Ballard Jr. (Laquisha) and Kendall Lamont Ballard; her stepdaughter Arlease Washington; her goddaughter Risha Neal; her grandchildren, Christian, Christopher, Chase, Jade, Journee, Jabria, Kenai and D'Amber; and her brothers, Buddy Nelson, Richard Nelson and Isaac Nelson Jr.. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.
A wake was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the New Independent Missionary Baptist Church (3236 E Illinois Ave, Dallas, TX 75216). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the DFW National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).
