He is survived by: his wife Leola Abram; his children, Darrell Steward, Catrina Cooper and Erica Burks-Medina; and his siblings, James Lee Burks, Loyd Edward Burks (Princella), Mitchell Glen Burks (Earnestine), Bobbie Jean Plummer, Eva Marie Burks, Helen Ruth Burks and Mary LaRuth Robinson. He is also survived by one son, and two daughters.
