It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Catherine Elizabeth Vanek (Dallas, Texas), born in Abbott, Texas, who passed away on February 10, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, William Kolar and Mary Kolar (Pustejovsky); and her siblings, Elo, Bennie, Vitus, Wesley Kolar, Lillian Mynar and Bernadette Dooley.

She is survived by : her children, Mary Kay Lavy and Michael Vanek; her grandchildren, Michaela Ann Lavy and Geoffre Michael Lavy; her sister Mary Ann Cocek; and her sister-in-law Diane Hejl (Eugene Hejl). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
