He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Prentice Holmes and Ruth Taggart Holmes; his sister Kathleen Holmes Trout; and his nephew Michael Lewis Troutt. He is survived by: his wife Bettie L. Holmes; his daughters, Liz (Steven), Janet (Alec) and Julie (Stan); his grandchildren, Hannah, Micah, Benjamin and John Parker; his stepgrandchildren, Skyler and Emma; and his niece Teresa Troutt Crow. He is also survived by several cousins, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Clyde's family is requesting donations to be made in his honor to charities that were important to him: American Kidney Foundation, MD Anderson, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
