He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus and Juana; his wife Gwen; his sisters, Maria Luisa Ramirez, Manuela Flores and Jesusa De La Cruz; his brother-in-law Eugene Flores; and his great grandchild Ariana Cano.

He is survived by: his children, Abel Cano, Chris Cano (Karen, Jr), Johnny Garcia (Yana) and Teri Cano (David); his stepchildren, Michelle and Bud; and his siblings, Jesse Cano (Olga), Ricardo Cano, Elsa Paredes (Ray) and Silvia Cano. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
