She is survived by: her husband Kirk Runnels; her brothers, Junior Van, Freedy Van, Jessie Lee Van, Cornelious Van and James Van; her children, Edward Charles Davis Jr., May Frances Smith, Damon Davis and Henry Davis; her grandchildren, LaKesha Gamble and Melvin Davis Jr.; her children, Gloria Matthews (Dave), Melvin Davis (Frances) and Michael Davis (Tonuia); and her grandchildren, Shanikiqwa Gamble-Chatman, Markey Hamilton (Schenelda), Brandy Simms, Terrence Smith (Tanya), Tiffany Smith, Morris Davis (Shameka), LaToya Williams (Aaron) and Shada Jones (Jermaine). She is also survived by great grandchildren along with a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Peaceful Rest Funeral Home (3302 E Illinois Ave, Dallas, TX 75216). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Independent Missionary Baptist Church (3236 E Illinois Ave, Dallas, TX 75216).
