He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie H. Owens Sr. and Earnestine Suttice White; his grandparents, Effie Trusdell (Elmer), Lonnie H. Owens Sr. and Minnie Taylor; his son John Owens; his sister Eloise Drain; and his grandson Johan Austin.

He is survived by: his wife Sallie Ann Owens of Dallas, TX; his siblings, Jewel Harris and Reginald Turner; his children, Ronnie Moore (Lynette) of Desoto, TX, Pameler Austin of Lancaster, TX and Yalonda Morris; his stepson Marcus Wilson of Dallas, TX.; and his niece Sandra Turner. He is also survived by 31 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren, plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
