“Joe and I were fellow protesters, of a sort at TJ our senior year. We both hated pep rallies, and would always "cut" the rally and go sit in the office, studying. The office workers would always gave us both detentions for not attending the pep rally. We loved the irony that the only two TJ students studying at that moment were getting detentions for doing so. He was a good ally, and a very nice and thoughtful person. My sympathy to Joe's family for your loss.”
