He was predeceased by: his father Dr. Charles Cook; and his siblings, Don, Kathy and Janice. He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca (Plano) and Christa (McAllen); his wife Marcie Thomas (Hovey); his stepchildren, Holly, Andrew (Plano) and Jill Thomas (Dallas); his grandson Johannes; his siblings, Lynn Hanks (Bill), Carol McBride, Keith Cook (Betsy) and Edd Cook (Diana); Cele. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorials to be given to a local food bank or other charity of choice.
