He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Zimmerman and Mary Kovalcik Zimmerman; his brother Allan; and his sister-in-law Thelma of Hickory, Pennsylvania.. He is survived by: his daughter Lori Zimmerman Chase (Brad) of Dallas, Texas.; his niece Patricia Platts (Raymond M.) of Scenery Hill; and his great-nephews, Mark Platts of Brownsville and Ray Platts of Belle Vernon.
