He was predeceased by: his wife Vernell Perkins; and his parents, Charles Swinney and Ila Mae Swinney. He is survived by: his son Philip Perkins; his siblings, Johnny "John" Perkins (Cindy) of Flower Mound, Texas and Julia Griffith (Edward) of Crowley, Texas; his stepdaughter Roxie Brown (Mike) of Huffman, Texas; and his stepgrandchildren, Megan Brown and Brett Brown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the SPCA due to Tom's love of animals.
