We are sad to announce that on July 21, 2025, Valencia Yvonne Nelms of Dallas, Texas, born in Birmingham, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Watkins Sr. and Betty Carter. She is survived by: her children, Calvin Nelms, Brieanna Nelms and James Freeman III; and her siblings, Glen, Donald II, Tracy, Robert, Kevin, Kijafa, Supima, Djenawa and Donald Jamal.

Visitation was held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Et Mansfield Funeral Home (1556 Heritage Pkwy, Mansfield, TX 76063). A celebration of life was held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
