He is survived by: his wife Joy Murphy of De Kalb, Texas; his daughter Michele; his son-in-law Harold Smith of New Boston, Texas; his son David; his daughter-in-law Tina Murphy of De Kalb, Texas; his grandchildren, Carter Smith of New Boston, Hope, Emily, Hayes and Ella Murphy of De Kalb, Texas; and his siblings, Mary Lou Slaybaugh of Clinton, Lillie Douglas of Winston-Salem and Ronnie Murphy (Pauline) of St. Joseph, Missouri. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
