She was predeceased by: her husband Norman Hooten; her parents, Bill Cartwright and Christene Cartwright; her sister Jeanne Hester; and her grandson Caleb Gentle.
She is survived by: her brother Ronny Cartwright; her sister-in-law Linda; her children, Cheri (Kevin Lancaster), Lauri Jackson of Huntsville, AL, Patti Ulmer of Texarkana, TX, Chris (Crystal Hooten) and Kelly (Jessica Hooten); her grandchildren, Austin (Nicole Lancaster), Paul (Ashley Gentle), Britni Lancaster Pflieger (Benjamin Hooten), Steven Gorman (Christena Hooten Nash), Will Nash (Daniel Hooten), Carli Lancaster Padgett (Chad Padgett), Michael (Jenny Gorman), Nathan Ulmer (Tyler), Kayleigh Hooten (Riley Hooten Sibley), Shane Sibley (Jessica Hooten Keith), Taylor Keith (Colton), Ashley Ulmer (Corey Hooten) and Bethany (Will Harris); and her great grandchildren, Jacob, Katelynn, Kinley, Tristan, Jeremiah, Haley, Layla, Elliot, Benjamin, Lainey, Jesslynn, Anderson, Faith, Ezekiel, Thomas, Abigail, Valerie, Drew, Isaac, Easton, Nora, Logan, Brylynn and A. J..
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bates Family Funeral Home (601 E Front St, De Kalb, TX 75559). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
