He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ella Louise (Gilbreath) and Raymond Carlisle; his wife Lou Williams; his grandson Christian Owen; his children, Kelly Owen (Steve) and Kent D. Carlisle (Heather); his grandsons, Larry Williams (Carmen), Steve Williams (Geri) and David Williams (Anna); and his siblings, Shirley O'Neil and Rick Carlisle (DeeAnn). He was also cherished by 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southmont Baptist Church.
