He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnie Thornhill and Freda Shellito Thornhill. He is survived by: his wife Donna Swain of Waxahachie; his daughter Chris; his son-in-law Dean Stewart of Chapel Hill, TX; his son Jon; his daughter-in-law Jamie Thornhill of Lindale, TX; his grandchildren, Travis Stewart, Hannah Stewart, Sadie Stewart, Jenna Thornhill and Jay Thornhill; and his great grandchildren, Ryker Lott and Canaan Cochran. He is also survived by extended family, church family, and numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials or donations be made in Bro. Mike's name to the First Baptist Church of Glenn Heights to further the ministry of the Gospel.
